Deck & Donohue: A Paris-Area Microbrewery Brewing Fabulous Craft Beer
Deck & Donohue produces some of the best craft beer in France. Founded in 2014, they have two breweries. Their first brewery, which is open for visits one day per week, lies just outside of Paris in the city of Montreuil. The Montreuil location is open on Saturdays, from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. If you would like to visit plan accordingly.
Deck & Donohue: The Brewery
Recently, Deck & Donohue opened a second, larger brewery in the Paris suburb of Bonneuil-sur-Marne. As a result, they’ve been able to scale up and produce larger batches of beer. This new brewery lies about 15 km from the first in Montreuil.
While the new location has become there primary brewery, they have maintained the Montreuil location for brewing small, experimental batches. It also serves as the location for customers to pick up freshly brewed beer. In addition to purchasing bottles, one can purchase 1.89 liter refillable growlers. Doing so is a great way to purchase beer at an economical price.
Deck & Donohue: The Beer
They offer a great selection of year round, seasonal, and one-off beers. The year round beers include:
- Trouble #6, a farmhouse ale
- Mission Pale Ale
- Indigo IPA
- Richochet, a hoppy amber ale
- Saison
- Monk Brown Ale
Their seasonal offerings include Makkuro Extra Porter (winter), Beaupre Spring Ale (spring), Clem’s Summer Wheat (summer), and Brumaire et Frimaire, a pumpkin ale (autumn). Recently, they offered a one-off beer in collaboration with Brasserie Perle (Strasbourg) called Maibock, a flavorful bock-style beer. Deck & Donohue beers can be found at cafes and bars throughout Paris, particularly those offering high quality food and beer.
